BICYCLES FOR GIRL STUDENTS

Kavalam Panchayat has a topography which makes it difficult for public transportation. Many homes cannot even be reached with a two wheeler due to perpetual water logging. Student have to resort to walking to their school some even taking 30 minutes. The issue for senior students specially girls is that after walking home they find it difficult to attend tuitions since it becomes late evening when it is over and they have to depend on an adult to bring them home and are not even able to reach on time. ARRT identified the solution of providing them bicycles and eligible students were identified with the state girl student development organization Jwala. The selected students were all chosen from economically challenged families.

Outcomes

​

Around 60 girls ranging from 9th till the 12th standard were identified and provided cycles.
